Schoolmaster snappers (Lutjanus apodus) sheltering amongst corals. This fish inhabits coastal waters in the Atlantic Ocean, from Massachusetts, USA, to Brazil in the west, and in the equatorial regions of the eastern Atlantic as well. It feeds on smaller fish, crustaceans, cephalopods (such as squid), snails and worms. It is itself considered a fine food fish. It can reach a length of up to 70 centimetres.
