Bluestriped grunts (Haemulon sciurus) schooling. This fish inhabits the tropical and subtropical waters of the western Atlantic Ocean, including the Caribbean Sea. It can reach a length of nearly half a metre, and is caught as a food fish. It feeds on crustaceans (such as shrimp), molluscs and small fish. Forming large schools such as this makes it harder for a predator to target an individual fish.
