Bluegill sunfish (Lepomis macrochirus). This freshwater fish inhabits lakes and river systems throughout North America. It has also been introduced in several countries, where it has become a pest. It can reach a length of over 40 centimetres, and feeds mainly on snails, insects, worms and smaller fish.
