Caption

Jewel fairy basslet (Pseudanthias squamipinnis). This is a territorial fish that inhabits coral reefs throughout the tropical Indo-Pacific region. Males, which can grow to twice the size of the females, keep harems in well-defended territories on the reef. The fairy basslet, or sea goldie, feeds mainly on plankton. The males can reach 15 centimetres in length.
