Damselfish (Chromis chromis) in mid-water. The damselfish grows to around 25 centimetres in length. It forms small shoals in mid-water, or near reefs and overhangs. It feeds on plankton or small animals on the seabed. Juvenile damselfish are blue-violet in colour, while adults are slightly darker. Chromis chromis is found throughout the eastern Atlantic Ocean and in the Mediterranean Sea. Photographed in the Mediterranean.
