Caption

Trevally (Caranx sp.). These fish, also known as jackfish, gather in large schools during the day, making it hard for predators to target an individual fish. At night the school fragments to feed on smaller fish, as well as crustaceans and molluscs. Trevally are fast-swimming, aggressive predators that can reach lengths of nearly a metre. They inhabit tropical and subtropical coastal waters near reefs.
