Emperor angelfish. Stripes of colour on the flanks of an emperor angelfish (Pomacanthus imperator). This fish inhabits coral reefs in the tropical Indo-Pacific region. It can reach a length of up to 40 centimetres. It feeds mainly on sponges and sea squirts. Its striking colouration makes it a popular pet in the aquarium trade. Photographed in the Egyptian Red Sea.
