Mahogany snappers (Lutjanus mahogoni) sheltering amongst corals. This fish inhabits reefs in the tropical and subtropical western Atlantic Ocean, from North Carolina, USA, to Venezuela. It feeds on fish, crustaceans and cephalopods. During the day it usually shoals around coral reefs, but at night the shoals break up and the fish hunts alone. Photographed off Bonaire Island in the Netherlands Antilles, in the Caribbean Sea.
