Batfish (Platax orbicularis) shoaling in shallow water. This fish, also called the circular spadefish, inhabits reefs in the tropical Indo- Pacific region, from the Red Sea to the Pacific islands. It feeds on algae, small fish and invertebrates, and can reach a length of around 50 centimetres. Photographed in Malaysia.
