Stoplight parrotfish (Sparisoma viride), supermale. This species of parrotfish has two kinds of males, normal and supermale. The normal male looks like the female, and is a green-blue colour. The supermale spawns with either an individual female or a group of females. These fish can grow up to around 64cm and are found in the western Atlantic region. They inhabit coral reefs with clear water. They are diurnal and sleep on the seabed during the night. Photographed in Bonaire, Netherlands Antilles, Caribbean, Atlantic Ocean.
