Chevron barracuda (Sphyraena qenie). Diver exploring a school of chevron barracuda. This fish congregates in schools numbering many thousands, seeking safety in numbers from predators such as tuna. The resulting wall of fast-moving silver and black stripes makes it difficult for a predator to focus on a single fish. The chevron barracuda is a fast and voracious predator and can reach a length of over a metre. Photographed off Maratua Island, in the Sulawesi Sea, Indonesia.
