Phyllodytes auratus, a golden tree frog, confined to the summits of El Tucuche, Aripo, & Morne Bleu, on the Caribbean island of Trinidad, at an elevation of about 1000 metres. This species lives in pools of water that form in the bromeliad, Glomeropitcairnia erectiflora, which grows abundantly in the montane forests on the above summits. This specimen is shown on a bromeliad, on Mt. Aripo, the pool of water can also be seen.
