Caption

Grasping frogs (Rana temporaria). Two males compete for a female. Both intend to mate with her by grasping on to her, one on her back and one below. The male on her back is likely to be successful. This frog is found throughout Europe and will mate each year in the same breeding ground where it attracts a mate through a courtship ritual of croaking.
