Green turtle (Chelonia mydas) swimming over coral. The green turtle lives in warm seas throughout the world. It usually stays close to coasts, feeding exclusively on aquatic plants, it can grow up to 150 centimetres in length and weigh up to 200 kilograms. The green turtle is entirely aquatic, apart from when the female returns to a beach to lay her eggs.
