Pet iguana. Common iguana (Iguana iguana) on the arm of its owner. Iguanas are found in tropical South America, in forests along the banks of rivers. Adults feed chiefly on plants, whereas juveniles prefer small animals. Iguanas can grow to a length of about two meters. Both sexes have a permanently visible fold of skin below the throat (dewlap, centre right).
