Red-tail boa constrictor (Boa constrictor constrictor) eating a mouse. Image 2 of 3. A snake's jaws are very flexible, which enables them to swallow their prey whole. In the wild, the red-tail boa inhabits Amazon rainforests from Colombia to northern Argentina. It is also a popular species in the pet trade. For a sequence of the snake eating the mouse, see Z780/124 to Z780/126.
