Least chipmunk (Tamias minimus) stood in a woody area. The least chipmunk is the smallest of the chipmunks and is an adept climber. It feeds on nuts, fruit, and insects, and forages for food both on the ground and in trees. It can carry food back to the burrow using its cheek pouches, where it is eaten or stored. The least chipmunk is diurnal (active during daylight) and hibernates for 6 months of the year.
