White whales, or beluga (Delphinapterus leucas). The beluga whale inhabits the Arctic coasts of Europe, Asia and North America. It lives in a slowly-swimming group, or pod, of 20-200 animals. A group migrates south in the winter, returning to the north in the spring. It feeds on fish and molluscs living on the seabed. Photographed in the Canadian Arctic.
