Amazon river dolphins (Inia geoffrensis). This dolphin lives in the freshwater rivers of the Amazon region of northern South America. It feeds on fish, turtles and crabs, which it locates using sonar (echolocation) in the muddy river water. This dolphin can reach a length of over 2.5 metres. It is known to be intelligent and playful, and seems to enjoy interacting with humans. Photographed on the Orinoco River, Brazil.
