Marsh mongoose (Atilax paludinosus). The marsh or water mongoose lives in marshes, reed beds and estuaries throughout sub-Saharan Africa. It is omnivorous, feeding on crustaceans, frogs, fruits, insects or birds' eggs. The marsh mongoose is solitary and mainly active between dusk and dawn.
