Asiatic jackal (Canis aureus). This jackal is also called the golden jackal. It is native to North and East Africa, southeastern Europe, South Asia and Burma. It has a diet of both meat and plant food and will prey on rabbits, birds, rodents, insects, fish and monkeys. The Asiatic jackal will also scavenge for food.
