Caption

Cat and mouse. Domestic cat (Felis catus) and common white mouse (Mus musculus) staring at each other. Domestic cats often make social companions of other species that would otherwise be enemies or prey. Kittens learn hunting techniques from their mother who brings them live prey to practise catching. If the kitten is removed from its mother early enough then it may be socialised to white mice and other rodents.
