Tiger. Tiger (Panthera tigris) camouflaged in tall grass. The tiger inhabits the forests of southern and eastern Asia. It is a solitary animal, each living in its own territory. Territories are generally not defended very vigorously, however. The tiger hunts large mammals such as deer, wild pigs and buffalo. It is the largest of the cat family, growing to almost three metres in length. Photographed in Kanha National Park, India.
