Paw prints of a lynx (Felis lynx) in snow. The lynx has large furry paws which help to spread its weight over the snow. It is a solitary, mainly nocturnal animal that eats hares, rabbits, small deer and birds. The lynx lives in forests in eastern Europe and Asia, and in the northern parts of North America.
