Paw prints of a lynx (Felis lynx) in snow. The lynx has large furry paws which help to spread its weight over the snow. It is a solitary, mainly nocturnal animal that eats hares, rabbits, small deer and birds. The lynx lives in forests in eastern Europe and Asia, and in the northern parts of North America. Photographed north of Atlin, British Columbia, Canada.
