Cat skull. Skull of a domestic cat (Felis catus) seen from the front. The cat is a carnivore (a meat eater), and the arrangement of its teeth reflect its diet. It possesses long, pointed canines at the front corners of its jaws, which it uses for catching, killing and removing meat from its small prey. At centre is the nasal aperture through which the nasal passages pass. To the left and right of the nasal aperture are the orbits, which house the eyes.
