Elephant skin. Close up of the skin on an African elephant (Loxodonta africana). The elephant's thick, hard skin is wrinkled to provide a large surface area that helps to keep it cool. African elephants are the world's largest land animal, weighing up to 10,000 kilograms and measuring 3.5 metres in height. Photographed in the Samburu reserve, Kenya.
