White rhinoceroses (Ceratotherium simum) resting. The white rhinoceros inhabits the grasslands and savannas of central and southern Africa. It is distinguished from the Black rhinoceros by its wide, square-shaped lips and larger build. It has the conservation status of near threatened (as of 2008). Photographed at Lake Nakuru, Kenya.
