Giraffe (Giraffa camelopardalis) bending to drink from a pool. Its front legs must be widely splayed in order for its head to reach the water. Giraffes live in the savannahs of sub-Saharan Africa, feeding on the leaves at the tops of trees. It is the tallest living land animal, some males reaching over 6 metres in height.
