Gemsbok. Gemsbok or South African oryx (Oryx gazella) standing on a desert dune. It eats grass and leaves and can go without water for long periods of time. Both males and females have horns, which are used for defence. This antelope lives in grassland and semi-arid areas in parts of southern Africa. Photographed in the Namib Desert, Namibia.
