Caption

Defassa waterbucks (Kobus ellipsiprymnus). These antelope occur in two forms or "races" in sub- Saharan Africa. These individuals belong to the race which inhabits scrub and savanna to the east and south of the Rift Valley and has a white semi- circle on the rump. They feed on grass and other vegetation and, as they drink large amounts daily, are always found close to water. Photographed in the Kruger National Park, South Africa.
