Gemsbok or South African oryx (Oryx gazella) walking at the foot of sand dunes. This antelope eats grass and leaves and can go without water for long periods of time. Both males and females have horns, which are used for defence. This gemsbok lives in grassland and semi-arid areas in parts of southern Africa. Photographed in the Sossusvlei Dunes in Namibia.
