Cape buffalo (Syncerus caffer) with a yellow-billed oxpecker (Buphagus africanus) sitting on its horns. This bird feeds on ticks and other parasites which it finds on the hides of buffalo and other grazing mammals. The Cape (or African) buffalo is found on the savannahs and woodlands of sub-Saharan Africa. It feeds on grasses and other vegetation. Photographed in Kruger National Park, South Africa.
