Loch Ness Monster. Illustration of the Loch Ness Monster cruising at night past a dark castle on the shore of Loch Ness in Scotland. Unconfirmed sightings of the Loch Ness Monster have occurred since the 15th century but scientific evidence for its existence is lacking. The creature is said to resemble one of the larger dinosaurs, with a long, elegant neck, a small head and legs with flippers. Its alleged existence is worth 25 million pounds a year to the Scottish tourist industry, which may explain why the myth endures.
