Caption

Robust ghost pipefish (Solenostomus cyanopterus) next to a piece of seagrass. This fish has the colour and shape of a piece of seagrass, and it positions its body to enforce the resemblance, to disguise it from predators. It typically floats in midwater with its mouth downwards, sucking up small crustaceans. When breeding it finds weedy areas around reefs. It inhabits the tropical Indo-Pacific region. Filmed in Anilao, Mabini, The Philippines.
