Caption

Angiography video of an arteriovenous fistula in a dialysis patient. An arteriovenous fistula is an abnormal connection or passageway between an artery and a vein. This procedure was achieved by direct puncture at the elbow, to opacify the fistula and to assess its functioning. Angiography is an imaging technique in which a radio-opaque contrast medium is injected into blood vessels to allow them to be seen on an X-ray.
