Darwin's On the Origin of Species. Collection of first-edition translations of 'On the Origin of Species' (1859) by the British naturalist Charles Darwin (1809-1882). Detailing his theory of evolution by natural selection, this is Darwin's most famous work. It has never been out of print. The work was translated into 11 European languages in his lifetime, and has been translated into at least 18 further languages since his death. These editions include the German, French, Italian, Spanish and Polish editions.
