Thomas Henry Huxley (1825-1895), British naturalist and biologist, best known for his advocacy of Darwin's theory of evolution. This caricature was published in Vanity Fair on 28 January 1871. It is by the Italian caricaturist Carlo Pellegrini (1839-1889) who has signed here as 'Ape'.
