Franklinite, an oxide of zinc, iron and manganese, chemical formula (Zn,Fe,Mn)(Fe,Mn)2O4. This mineral with black metallic crystals belongs to the isometric crystal system of octahedrons which often have rounded edges. Host rock is calcite and the red mineral (top left) is zincite.
