Siderite, an iron carbonate (FeCO3), a mineral that forms a series with the closely related rhodochrosite and magnesite. Its crystal system is trigonal-hexagonal, most commonly tabular crystals. Here it is in a cryolite matrix. From Ivittuut in West Greenland. Width 90mm.
