Desalination plant. Pile of limestone added to purified water after processing at a desalination plant. This facility removes the salt from sea water using reverse osmosis, to turn it into drinking water. It is the largest of its kind in the world. Limestone is added to replace minerals lost through the desalination process. Photographed in Ashkelon, Israel.
