Colonial conflict. Artwork of irregular troops that have been deployed in Argentina to clear land occupied by the indigenous population. These events were observed near Bahia Blanca in September 1833 by the British naturalist Charles Darwin during the five years of the second survey voyage of HMS Beagle. This artwork is from page 85 of Darwin's 'Journal of Researches' (the 1890 John Murray first illustrated edition).
