Primate hand tendon. Coloured freeze-fracture scanning electron micrograph (SEM) of the flexor digitorum tendon from the hand of a primate. Normal healthy tendons are mostly composed of parallel arrays of collagen fibres closely packed together. Magnification: x150 when printed at 10 centimetres across.
