Palaeontological excavation. Palaeontologist holding the freshly excavated tusk of a mammoth, found during excavations in a sinkhole dating from the Pleistocene epoch (around 2.5 million-11,700 years ago). These large mammals grazed the area around 35,000 years ago. Found in the Jura Mountains, Switzerland.
