Caption

Throat tissue. Fluorescence deconvolution micrograph of a section through throat tissue. This tissue sample is a cross-section through skeletal muscle (fibres, red) found in the throat. These muscles attach to bones, supporting the head and allowing conscious movement of the neck. Cellular proteins are highlighted with fluorescent markers: g-actin (red), smooth muscle actin (green) and cell nuclei (blue).
