Pterygium, an overgrowth of the cornea, usually on the inner side of the eye, by thickened and degerative conjunctiva. The conjunctiva is the lining membrane of the front of the eye and eyelid. This condition is most commonly seen in people from dry, hot and dusty climates and only rarely interferes with vision.
