A bank of screens monitor cardiovascular functions in a hospital patient (simulated by model) who is using a sensor for breath sample analysis in a study at Leicester University, UK. It is hoped to integrate a number of advanced diagnostic methods including mass spectrometry, thermal imaging and ultrasound blood flow measurement. Using expertise from chemical and space research scientists to compliment medical practice it is hoped that a rapid, portable and non-invasive detection instrument will be developed to detect disease.
