Wind tunnel being used in meteorological research. Examples of the need to model patterns of wind flow in weather forecasting include studies of wind flow around skyscrapers and over and around hills. These wind flow patterns can influence the local microclimate and the dispersion of pollutants and pollen. This equipment is being operated by the Met Office, the UK's national weather monitoring and forecasting service.
