Sodium dichromate (Na2Cr2O7) solution in a volumetric flask, with crystals beside it. There are 25 grams of the crystals on the watch glass, and 25 grams of dissolved crystals in 500 millilitres of water in the volumetric flask. The orange colour of this compound is due to its dichromate ions.
