Y-12 calutron control panels. Operators at the control panels of the y-12 control room, Oak Ridge National Laboratory, Tennessee. These are controls for an electromagnetic isotope separation plant that produced enriched uranium for the Manhattan Project during World War II. The operators did not know the purpose of the machines they were monitoring. Photographed circa 1945.
