CaSR receptor. Fluorescence deconvolution micrograph of a section through tissue containing a calcium-sensing receptor (CaSR). Cellular proteins are highlighted with fluorescent markers. A CaSR responds to levels of calcium, and in found in places such as the intestines and the parathyroid gland. It plays a vital role in maintaining the correct calcium levels (calcium homeostasis).
